Job Skills - Grocery Store - Life Skills - Vocational Skills - Produce Codes
Providing students with simulated job skills practice in the classroom is a key part of ensuring their success while working at a job site in the community. If you are looking for an interactive lesson that has students simulate what it is like to work as a cashier at a GROCERY STORE, this activity brings learning to life. It is setup as a game type format where students click on the buttons on the screen to enter the produce codes of the items customers are buying. They then are asked to select the correct quantity from a list. Students get immediate feedback for each entry. At the end, totals are calculated on screen and the student can move onto the next customer's order.
A total of FOURTEEN scenarios are included in this game.

❤️ How I Use This In My Classroom ❤️
This activity is very versatile and can be used as a whole group lesson, small group work, or independent practice as well. For a whole group lesson, present the game to the class and have students take turns pressing the numbers for each item. This can also easily be replicated in small groups as well, with more attention given to knowing where to look for the codes and quantity calculation for targeted instruction. Finally, when students have mastered the basic concepts of this activity, you can have them practice it on their own independently.
