Want to try and teach some of your higher life skills students how to make a meal plan of their own? Look no further! This activity has students use the internet to explore recipes and create a meal plan using the internet!

This activity is specifically formatted to be used with Google Drive and is compatible with Google Classroom. Google Drive is an amazing resource that many educators are now using as an interface to support 1:1 digital instruction in the classroom. I pair it up with Google Classroom (a free website) that allows me to digitally send each student in my class a copy of the worksheets that they later submit to me for grading. With this lesson, students are able to drag and drop a variety of objects into their correct locations. It is an amazing paper-free process and the kids LOVE working on these worksheets on the computer.

I have provided a slide where students can click on websites to find the following kinds of recipes: side dishes, main dishes, and entrees.

Students are then asked to paste the website to their recipe and type out reasons why they liked that recipe. This is a fantastic lesson to teach kids some recipe reading skills and technology skills as well (using the internet, copying and pasting, understanding URLs, etc.)

Hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
