So many students struggle with understanding how to correctly use liquid measuring cups in functional day to day cooking. If your students are anything like mine, numbers like "1/4" and phrases like "ounces" mean very little to them and when asked to use a liquid measuring cup, looks of confusion often ensue.

Although initially designed for special education, life skills students, ANY teacher looking to integrate some real world math into their classroom would benefit from the functional content these task cards provide!

How I Use These In My Classroom:

I laminate each of the task cards and provide students with vis a vis markers. I separate the levels (Level A and B) and then track students as they progress up through each level. Students work 1:1 or in small groups working on these task cards until they reach 100% mastery on their own. Once they do, they are allowed to move up to the next level! I love to incorporate the data into IEP goals as well. Parents and students LOVE the real world applicability this lesson offers!
