Life Skills - Time - Mystery Pixel Art - Google Sheets - Analog Clock
Are you looking for more ways to practice time telling skills in your classroom but are running into the same activities over and over again? I noticed students in my life skills classes were getting bored with the traditional worksheets and task cards that had them practice reading analog clocks. I created this 100% DIGITAL activity that adds a fun, new twist to real world skills.
With MYSTERY PIXEL ART, students practice typing in the time into boxes. As students answer the questions correctly, a mystery picture AUTOMATICALLY starts emerging on their screen. If their answers are correct, they turn green and some parts of the picture get shown. If their answers are incorrect, they turn red and no new parts of the image show up.
No coding or google sheets experience is needed for this activity! If students can type their answer into a box, the picture will automatically update for them! Students look at the picture of an analog clock and write the time in the correct location (ex: $4:30). For this worksheet to work correctly, students must be able to include a colon ( __ : __ ) into their responses.
This activity is specifically formatted to be used with Google Drive and is compatible with Google Classroom. Google Drive is an amazing resource that many educators are now using as an interface to support 1:1 digital instruction in the classroom. I pair it up with Google Classroom (a free website) that allows me to digitally send each student in my class a copy of the worksheets that they later submit to me for grading. With this lesson, students get immediate feedback. It is an amazing paper-free process and the kids LOVE working on these worksheets on the computer.
With your purchase, you will get TWO DIFFERENTIATED LEVELS of time telling activities. Each level will include EIGHTEEN questions. Level one has questions telling time in intervals of an hour and half hour. Level two has questions telling time in five minute intervals.
